spring summer 2014 trends : part II

COOL WHITES – It is crisp, bold (without being too in -your- face ) and perfect for summer. this is a minimalistic approach to fashion and can be tricky to pull off but not entirely difficult…here are certain ways to pull off this trend.
pure minimalism : go for an all- white look breaking it up with different shades of whites( ivory, cream, snow and baby powder) or similar color stories such as beige and nudes. blending in of these tones will avoid your ensemble from looking completely washed out.Image
POP IT UP WITH COLORS – this one is my personal favorite….use your white piece as the base of your canvas and throw on your pops of color. break down the monotony with a single color schemeImage
or go all out n about with a splash of colors..

JUNK JEWELLERY- Pile on your junk jewellery to give a cool boho- chic vibe.

TEXTURES AND SURFACE DETAILS – use white fabrics in contrasting textures and cut works to cut down the plainness ( for the lack of a better word ) of an all- white ensemble. Shop for pieces with cut-work/ appliques or cut-outs for an edgy look.

Do you guys have any other ideas on how to wear this summery trend??pls give in your comments.

how to do a desi-boho look

experiment
change it up:
change it up:
instead of going by the obvious route..try to change it up . Try pairing your kurtas/tunics with voluminous maxi skirts or palazzos/ shararras/ patiala salwars instead of the everyday leggings or salwars.pair your saree with a shirt instead of your blouse (or experiment with your blouse itself)
acceseroize
acceseroize: don’t shy away from accesorizing your look ever. your accesories make or break a look. incorporate  jhumks or jhoolas into your look. antique silver jewelry or glass bangles will also give you a quirky/ desi-boho look.
desi roots
desi roots: while putting your look together try to add certain desi elements into it. raid your mother’s wardrobe for indian textiles and embroideries (bandhanis, phulkaris etc.)  instead of your go-to everydaysandals complete your look with kohlapuris or punjabi jhootis.
